Stuck on Connecting, unable to refresh a profile or suddenly missing access to websites? A controlled diagnosis is more useful than random settings changes. Work through the network, client, profile and route one at a time.
Step 1. Check internet access and your subscription
Disconnect the VPN and open several ordinary sites. If those fail, restore basic connectivity first: check Wi-Fi, mobile data and any public-network sign-in page.
Open your OutSpeed VPN account and check subscription status, plan limits and devices. Switching servers will not fix an expired subscription or reached limit. Use the account's current status rather than a cached label in the client.
Step 2. Refresh your profile and client
- Disconnect the client.
- Refresh the OutSpeed VPN server list and record any download error.
- Check for a client update from its official source.
- Verify device date, time and timezone.
- Retry a previously working server and another server from the refreshed list.
A subscription download error differs from a server connection error. Tell support whether the client cannot obtain settings or already has a profile but cannot establish a connection.
Step 3. Compare networks and servers
Test the same profile and server on Wi-Fi and mobile data. A computer can use a phone hotspot for comparison. Then try a second available server.
One failed server may indicate a node or route issue. A profile working on Wi-Fi but failing on mobile data points to different network conditions; it does not prove a particular blocking mechanism. Record the provider and outcome.
Change one variable at a time. Changing the network, client, DNS and server together prevents you from knowing which action helped.
VLESS, REALITY and transports are different layers
VLESS is a proxy protocol. REALITY is a transport-security mechanism. TCP/RAW, gRPC and XHTTP describe ways of carrying the connection. They are not interchangeable switches.
Client and server parameters must be compatible. Editing a TCP profile to say gRPC does not create a matching server endpoint. Use current OutSpeed VPN subscription profiles and ask support which alternatives are available.
A failure in one city or network does not establish a universal protocol failure. Base changes on your test results and available profiles instead of editing keys after reading an unverified chat message.
Connected, but some apps fail
- On desktop, check whether the app ignores the system proxy and needs a supported VPN/TUN mode.
- On Android, check Bypass and Proxy only selections.
- Compare banking or local services directly and add a suitable exclusion if needed.
- For screen-lock disconnections, review background restrictions.
- Test with one active VPN client.
Do not disable certificate checks or install unknown root certificates to fix an ordinary connection failure. Restore your last working configuration if the problem began after manual changes.
Send OutSpeed VPN a useful support report
Use the OutSpeed VPN Telegram bot and include this short report. It helps support reproduce the issue without asking you to repeat every test.

Should I delete the client immediately?
Check the subscription, refresh the profile and compare networks first. Reinstallation removes local settings and can make the cause harder to identify.
Why does a server test pass while a site fails?
A delay test checks only part of the path. Website access also depends on routing, DNS, the client and the destination service.
